Thursday 25 July
Seeing as we are paying 15euro for 24 hours in the carpark, we will make use of this and catch the train into central Munich. The rain station (U6) is about 1.6km from the stadium and takes about 15minutes to get to Marienplatz, (central Munich).
So Munich for us was a wander around the Vickuals Market, (basically biggest free tasting area of fresh food around) then paid our 3 euro each to climb to the top of Saint Peters cathedral tower.
This was a waste of time and money, so crowded it wasn’t funny and not so sure about an over crowded tower above a city with a very narrow 1 way staircase to get off.
Then being Munich couldn’t go past the midday watch of the marionettes doing their thing above Marienplatz.
Then off to the Hofbrauhaus (biggest beer hall) for a stein and lunch. We know our limits and 1/2l of Radler beer each is enough for us. The photos make it look so much better. The 1l steins look so big and quite funny watching all these little Asian tourists trying to down these massive glasses of beer.
Mid afternoon back to the Stadium and hit the road. It’s a motorway trip this afternoon with intention of a fair few km’s to get through.
We managed to knock 300km off and arrived in Zwickau about 7.30pm, our park according to Park4night ended up also being host to the circus, and rather noisy so decided to look elsewhere. Fortunately Campercontact came to the rescue with another smaller one a little way away by the Ford Dealer.
Looking at the map, it looks as though we may have to do another big day at some stage soon, just as I thought would happen.
